Vandalism of Indian embassy in London

  On March 19th and 22nd, 2023, pro-Khalistan protesters tried to vandalize the Indian High Commission in London . The tricolour flying atop the building was grabbed at by a group of protesters waving separatist Khalistani flags and chanting pro-Khalistani slogans . The Indian government has retaliated against the vandalism by downgrading the security of the British embassy in Delhi . The vandalism has been condemned by Members of Parliament for House of Commons, London. Navendu Mishra, in a letter addressed to Indian High Commissioner in London, Vikram Doraiswami, stated that “The protest that turned into violence and vandalism was promoted on several social media platforms at least 24 hours beforehand and it is disappointing that the Home Office failed to ensure adequate protection” . The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has also reacted to the various acts of vandalism that have been reported across Australia, Canada and the US.
